Electric and Furnace

All of the electric outlets and lights are in along with the furnace. The plumbing is all in except for the hot water heater which should be going in any day now. We have a "walk thru" with the builder tomorrow afternoon to confirm everything is in place before the dry wall goes up. It is looking more and more like a home every day!

More Concrete

They poured the basement and garage floors last week. Next Tuesday we are going out for a "walk thru" to confirm all the outlets, lighting, plumbing, heating and cooling utilities are all in the right places. Once this is finalized, they will begin the insulation and dry wall!

Daisy's Surgery

Daisy had reconstructive knee surgery last Thursday. She had a luxating patella. She was really good for surgery and in recovery. She had to stay at the puppy hospital overnight for observation. We picked her up after work on Friday. She is not allowed to jump, run, walk long distances, get on furniture or play rough. Ryan and I have been camping out on the air mattress sleeping next to Daisy in the living room. It has been 1 week so far. Our living room looks like a fort because we have to stack up everything around the couch so Daisy won't jump up on it. Needless to say, it is going to be a long 10 weeks. Especially because Daisy doesn't understand what is wrong and just wants to play. Of course, mom and dad have been spoiling her and bought her this new bed to lay in. The cast came off last Sunday but she now has to wear the dreaded cone to keep her from licking her stitches. We have an appointment next Wednesday to have them removed. She is walking on it pretty well considering it has only been a week. We took her back for a check up yesterday and the surgeon said her knee looks very strong and is healing fast!

Ryan's Big Project

Yes, this is Ryan doing manual labor outside. Ryan took a Friday off and began this 3 day project. Day 1 - Hand scrubbing each piece of wood. Day 2 - Stain the fence. Day 3 - Stain the deck. There were some complications of course. The sprinkling system was right next to the fence so Ryan had to cover them up and with buckets and weigh down the buckets so the force of the sprinkling system wouldn't send them flying. Then the boards on the deck were a bit warped, so the roller wouldn't quite cut it. He had to follow up with a hand brush to fill in the cracks. The finished project looks fantastic. Well done!

Shingles, Plumbing and More

The crew put the shingles on the house in 1 day. It is amazing how fast some things go up. They started the plumbing. Here are the hot and cold lines to 1/2 bath on the main floor. These are the prepped heating and cooling vents in the kitchen.Ryan enjoying the first shower in the master bath. They haven't poured the basement floor yet, but thy have put up the braces. You can see the prep for the 1/2 bath, furnace and hot water heater over in the corners.

Windows and Trim

Sorry, these photos do not have the best lighting because I took them with my iPhone. Big surprise, we didn't have the camera on the drive by after our Kensington Park bike ride :)
The windows are in and they are painting the wood trim.
